The Kerem Tunnel offers a unique trail and riding experience to the benefit of
The Kerem Tunnel, the first bicycle tunnel in Israel is now open in the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycling route that surrounds the capital city.

The tunnel is located through the Nahal-Refaim-Emek-Motza path. The southern entrance is located in Refaim Park, below Ein Laban while the northern entrance is located in Nahal Ein Kerem, about one kilometer away close to the Kerem junction.

The 2.1-kilometer-long tunnel was officially inaugurated by Jerusalem's Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin.  נווה פריצקי The ceremony was also attended by Mayor Moshelion Avi Balehnikov Gihon Water Company Chairman, as well as many cyclists.

"In the past, Jerusalem was an attractive tourist destination because of its rich history. Elkin said that the present tourist industry is a part of Jerusalem's historic treasures and incorporates modern day tourism. "The opening of this tunnel project is yet another milestone in the advancement of Jerusalem as an attractive tourist destination for all kinds of people from Israel and around the globe."

The ministry of Elkin, which responsible for the project along alongside Jerusalem Municipality, stated that his ministry "invests hundreds and millions of shekels each year in all aspects of Jerusalem's tourism and in creating exciting attractions and ventures which connect the glorious historic history of our capital city with its future." I would like to invite cyclists everywhere to visit and enjoy the contemporary, well-maintained road that takes in the view of Old Jerusalem.

"The Kerem Tunnel project is an essential tool to realize the vision to transform the idea of transportation throughout Jerusalem," Elkin emphasized. "The tunnel is set to connect with the Jerusalem Ring Path. It will link to the numerous cycling routes that exist within the city.  נווה פריצקי The paths will be paved within the numerous areas. The goal is to encourage cycling among residents of the city.

To make the tunnel usable to the public all year round The works comprise road construction, as well as installing blowers.
